It’s not news.

It seems that news broadcasters have something against me and they have conspired to fill my news feed full of things that just don’t matter, are of zero interest to me and have no business being aired on any news programme, because they aren’t news.
TVs, radios and newspapers have been bewitched by a series of football (soccer) games being played in North America and they assume that I have too. It just isn’t important. It’s not news. I don’t care.
And then there’s that wedding in New York. Some singer’s getting married, and it’s as if nobody else ever got married, and the world is torn between crazy nuptials that most people aren’t invited to and watching football.
I suppose they’ll start regaling us with more bilge about the British royals next just to further rattle my cage.
It must be a really slow news week if the papers are all agog with this nonsense.
Who cares?

Personally these crazy days I only care if someone or something might drop on my head and about this mad heat getting out of control

I feel the same way! I just don't care about soccer or about someone getting married, as long as the someone isn't ME.
(And no, I have no plans to ever get married again.)

@daddyevil And I don’t suppose Mr and Mrs Swift would be in the slightest bit interested if you did.

I know how you feel when the news is about issues that a lot of people do not care about.

What is newsworthy does not really concern the common folks.
Maybe, daily lives are better endured while glitzy life is for us to live vicariously.
I like news about those who overcame heavy odds and shone in their lives not by accumulating money but through service to society in general.
Pomp, show, and marketing seem to carry the day throughout our history though.
