So Thankful

I spent a long time listening to the repeated pop pop pop of illegal fireworks tonight. I’m thankful that my dog was only initially perturbed by the noise.
But I have so much more to be thankful for. It’s the 250th birthday of a country I dearly love. It has been gratifying to watch video after video of people from other countries here for the World Cup, talking about how much they have enjoyed the United States. How their media has flat out lied about what it’s like here. Hearing about what they have been taken by just reminded me of how blessed I am, and how many things there are to love. No doubt, we are going over a big pot hole right now, but every country finds themselves in up and downs. We will course correct, and I find comfort in that knowledge.
Thank you to those who wished America happy birthday. And to those who are doing their best to make America better each and every day. I am very grateful.

For all it's faults this is still an amazing country to live in in many ways. Happy 4th!
