So a big storm came through tonight, and I really hoped the power wouldn’t go out. Well, it did. About an hour after it quit storming, I headed over to my dad’s to see if they had power. It wouldn’t have done any good to call first as my dad turns off his phone when they go to bed.
Wow. I had several detours as police were keeping people away from downed power lines. They were a little behind though! With all the street lights out I almost hit a downed tree, did go over a big branch, and right when I almost got to my dad’s I swerved to avoid another downed power line. I was not the only one out and about either. The hope of having power and air conditioning kept me going. Unfortunately, their power was out too. Apparently, OKC and it’s surrounding areas are almost 100% without power.
How did your evening end? I hope better than mine!

Thankfully you were not hurt driving through such a mess.
It sounds like they have alot of clean up ahead of them before your hydro is restored.
Yesterday the a/c was on for hours here, I got a text from our son in the morning when we were on our way to get apples from the market. We still had several stops to make after that, but he and the girls were back home again from the lake and wondered if they could come over for supper. We got home at 11:42 and I immediately got the ground beef out of deep freezer and got it into the microwave oven to thaw, while we each grabbed a quick bite to eat, and I turned the oven on then. Grandpa suggested that the girls would love some peanut butter cookies, and since I would have the oven on anyways, I got the lasagna going. The oven was on from then until after 4pm.
Just can't wait to see our hydro bill next month.
