Happy 5th of July! As the meme on Facebook says, the Christmas stuff is out at Walmart today.
That’s an exaggeration; however, I’m sure they are moving the Halloween stuff out.
Hope they have a jukebox, because that’s what I’m saluting all month. Here’s today’s song that mentions the jukebox.
The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em) - Greg Kihn Band
Greg Kihn was cool. When Weird Al made a parody of Kihn’s biggest hit, “Jeopardy,” as “I Lost on Jeopardy,” Kihn made a cameo in the video at the end, re-creating the scene where he and his wife drive off after the wedding (only in Weird Al’s video, Al had been thrown out of the Jeopardy studio and into the back seat of Kihn’s car).
This was his “other” hit. Kihn’s success, while relatively minimal (he was a two hit wonder, as opposed to a one-hit wonder), destroyed the humor of his record label’s proclamation that they were “The home of the hits.” (Beserkley Records was an indie label that had a whopping zero top 40 songs from anyone in their roster until Kihn came along.)
I loved it then, and I love it now.

Written by Greg Kihn and Steve Wright
Recorded by the Greg Kihn Band
From RocKihnRoll, 1981

This one was way better than "Jeopardy." At least, I think so.

I liked them both, but I think this one is better, yes.
