Oliver Hasn't Been As Active Lately

Oliver isn't sick and we don't need to take him to the vet. He's just less active lately.
He's eating and drinking and voiding. So that's all good.
He purrs when we pet him and his nose is cool and wet, so that's good.
I thought maybe the Summer heat was bothering him, but hubby pointed out that it's always 75 degrees in our house with the air conditioning.
He's not getting up in our laps as much and not wanting to play with his laser.
But just like humans, I imagine he's just going through a cycle.

Even if the temperature is always cool in a/c, I imagine the changing barometric pressures will affect him. I see similar in Bruno right now.

It is warmer than that in here, but Nico has been staying to himself more. He still climbs up on me or lies next to me though..when he is in the mood. He seems kind of stressed though..at times he sheds when he never used to do that. He seems physically OK though...not super worried about it.

It's good to know if he's just going through a cycle.
I always observe how my fur babies behave and the moment there is a change in their behavior it worries me and I immediately call our vet. Fortunately our vet is kind enough to entertain me all the time.

I’m sure the summer heat affects them. I feel drained, even in the house.

Even if it is nice inside, like humans, cats like to rest more during the heat of summer. I know I don't want to stir around as much when it's hot outside.

Could Oliver be sad or depressed about something? I hope he gets back his old energy. Just in case

I hope that your cat Oliver will feel better soon. I think Oliver is just through a down period right now.

I see you said he is about 7 or 8 years old now
Most likely getting a bit old for playing with his laser
Cats change their habits much like we do.
And he is middle aged now
I wouldn't worry about it
