Is there anyone crazy enough to think that’s not a long time to go without air conditioning or fans in 100 degree heat and humidity? That’s how long my electricity was out, but of course, luckily, my dad’s came on Sunday night. We went from 100,000 in my city without power to unfortunately, we were apparently the last 500 without power. Ugh. But it’s back! And God bless those in countries this hot and humid with no air OR fans. I thanked my dad and Diana profusely for letting me stay with them and shower in a bathroom with water that wasn’t cold or broke me out in a rash. I hope they really understand how how much I appreciate it. I would invite them over for dinner again at my apartment, but I’m not sure inviting someone to my apartment is a gesture anyone would really want. It’s at least neat and tidy. My apartment is a dump, but it’s MY dump, and you never feel quite comfortable as you do in your own space. Plus, I can be in control of the thermostat here. What are you grateful for today?

I wouldn't call where you live a dump, it is home, it is where you lay your head to rest and enjoy time with Sadie. It is funny that you ask about gratefulness today. I finished working at 3pm, and had literally gotten a text message just within seconds before I finished work that my medication refill was ready for pick up. It is a warm and sunny day today, so off I went for a nice walk in the warmth to get my pills. And I thought all during the walk there and back how much I have to be thankful for. My job, health, family, faith and how generally happy I feel. No, not over the moon happy, but very content. And of course my sweet friends here on myLot put me into a great mood also-so thanks for adding to that.

I’m very very thankful for the time I went without electricity. It was 172 hours, from noon one Sunday until 8 PM the next Sunday, from the remnants of Hurricane Ike. However, the weather was splendid, perfect for having the windows open. If there was any time to be without electricity, it was THAT week. I’m also very thankful you have YOUR electricity back!

@AmbiePam That all sounds miserable. I’m grateful that I live in Ireland. With temps in the high 60s we think we’re in a heat wave. Tomorrow we fly into an English heat wave in the 80s.

Grateful that I woke up this morning with ariconditioner and all the convenience I'm enjoying. And you are right. We will always be comfortable in our own space no matter what it is.

Just now
I'm glad your power is back on. I'm grateful for the time my SIL spent here. She kept me company and did a ton of things for me.
