That sucks.

Did you see that? A man (Serbian, if that makes any difference) was partially sucked out of a Ryanair plane on a flight from Thessaloniki. There was a bang, the window broke, oxygen masks dangled and the plane turned back to Greece. The man was head and shoulders out of the window but fellow passengers hauled him back in. How frightening would that be? I hope Ryanair will foot the bill to provide the unfortunate passenger with fresh underwear.

I heard about that happening with a flight attendant once. The passengers held her back from being sucked out. I don’t know if I could fly after that. I mean, I’m not into signs, but it would be hard not to take that as God hinting to me to stick to cars or boats.

@AmbiePam I’m sort of terrified of flying but I don’t let it stop me. On Wednesday we had a disconcerting flight and I think it must have been the pilots first go at it in a real plane. We were all over the place.

@xFiacre I remember your post about it. It sounded like people on that flight had the occasion to get closer to God, and not on purpose.

That's scary. It feels like something that would happen in a movie..I'm glad he is safe

You do hear about those incidents from time to time..and they usually involve a fatality, just awful.

I have read a few minutes ago. Scary adventure for that passenger. I think it's better to keep your seat belt attached, at least you are not sucked out.

How bizarre l just read about that half an hour ago. I remember the BA pilot who got sucked halfway through the window which was caused by the wrong sized screws they used. Luckily a steward was in the cockpit at the time who grabbed his feet & hung onto him while the first officer declared an emergency May Day & landed the plane. The pilot ended up with frost bite & other injuries from being battered about on the fuselage. It must have been horrific for everyone.

@harymarsh6 Why do the horror stories appear just as I’m about to get on a plane?!

@xFiacre Yes that always seems to be the way. Things you would not normally be concerned about unless you are due to fly yourself. My daughter has told me some horror stories when she was cabin crew. I used to track all her flights & sigh with relief when she landed somewhere most recently when she flew to Miami & her plane was in a holding pattern for around half an hour until fuel levels got critical & they had to have priority landing. Have a great flight!
