Somebody Paid for Our Lunch Today

It was a weird set of circumstances.
Hubby and I went to our usual Mexican restaurant today like we do every Saturday. We were eating our lunch and no other customers were there until a group came in the door and the man said, "We need a table for 6 and shots of tequila!"
They sat the group of 6 right next to us. They ordered multiple shots of tequila and were also drinking beer. They were very loud and throwing the "F" word around quite liberally. They were a group of co-workers, 5 men and 1 woman, on their lunch break from work, drinking heavily!
They didn't bother us, really.
But when we asked our server for the check, she said somebody else had already paid for our lunch and she motioned to the group of six beside us. One man in the group walked over and said, "I wanted to apologize up front for the group because I know how they're going to be acting." We thanked him.
It wasn't necessary for him to do that but it sure was very considerate.
As we left, we walked past their table and shook the man's hand to thank him again and told the rest of the group to enjoy their day.

I like self-aware people.
My sister’s family gets their lunch paid for a couple times a year, although no one has ever told them which table did it. They all eat at the same time at the same table, which means tubing Hudson at the table. It’s not gross in any way, and literally lasts ten seconds, but when people see that I think they feel sorry for them.

Will Hudson always have a tube the rest of his life?

@LooeyVille Well, part of his food he does eat orally. While they fed him through his tube, he’ll also sit there and munch on a few French fries (he needs calories, even if they come in fatty form). But, probably, to some extent he’ll always have to be partially tube fed. He’ll someday be able to do it himself, but he’s ten now, and can’t. It really is so quick you hardly notice, and his Mickey button doesn’t prevent him from swimming (which he loves) or showering. He just can’t seem to get enough calories eating by mouth.

That was very nice, the man being considerate and coming to speak to you. And, that they bought your lunch.
Hopefully the rest of your day will be as good!

Very nice of them, I would ask to move if I got seated by a group like that though, or they sat by me It would ruin my lunch. However, I guess again it points to you can't judge a book by its cover.
