My Streak Was Broken

It’s certainly not much to “brag” about, but I had managed to make it to church five weeks in a row before this morning. I woke up sick, and wasn’t going to make things worse by trying to go.
Eventually, I went over to my dad and stepmom’s because they are going to a conference in Ohio Tuesday, and I wanted to say goodbye in person before they left. Much to my astonishment they were running the air conditioning when I walked in. Thank goodness. I also discovered while getting my mail the USPS did NOT deliver my item to me like they said via Amazon, but it was free anyway, so, oh well. I also got a notification from LIHEAP about my electricity bill. Thank goodness this month’s bill will be covered. I think it will cover next month’s as well. Any other low income people here get their energy assistance yet?
I’ve been instructed if I go over to my dad’s house while he’s gone not to turn on the air conditioner.

@AmbiePam To me it seems passive aggressive. He knows other people are suffering .but he wants to be controlling over something that can bring relief. At least you don't have to be there if you don't want to be

@snowy22315 I understand it seems that way, but it’s really not. And I seem to be the only one suffering. But like you said, I don’t have to be there now.

Unfortunately, we do not have energy assistance for low-income people here. But we've got plenty of airconditioned malls and people flock there day and night to enjoy the AC.

Conference? Yesterday Sunday my wife and I attended our Semi-annual Church conference. We listto faith-promoting messages from our leaders and members.

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well and hope you're feeling much better now. My eyes swelled closed for several days. It was a pain in the tush! Pretty waited on me hand and foot.

@AmbiePam Yeah, me, too. She got sick so I kept asking if she needed anything... I could see well enough to get to the kitchen but that was about it. She finally closed her bedroom door so I'd leave her alone.
