I really like the late, great Sophie Kinsella (RIP dear woman) for that. In the upcoming days of unrelenting heat, I will try to find another book by her that I like. She always cheers me. Alternatively, I might look for Bridget Jones Diary. It seems hard to come by in traditional libraries but I remember when I first read the book circa 2000, it really cracked me up. On the flip side I think I will read Legion by William Peter Blatty.

Are they funny? You might like some of those cat detective books by Lilian Jackson Braun. I told you about them before.

@snowy22315 I remember you told me about cat detective books. No the books I am reading are not funny, are thrilling, a lot of suspense, this is what I like.

Yes, they were both good. The first book is Soo funny. I was laughing hysterically the whole time I read it.

My favorite is Janet Evanovich and her main character Stephanie Plum is hilarious. I've read all her books from the very 1st one to the latest in a very long series. (over 30 so far)
