The last couple of days I have read about what the Trump administration is now doing to our natural resources, parks and monuments. They are defining the word "harm" to meet their needs as it reads in the endangerment act. The definition of that word "was upheld by the US Supreme Court in a 1995 ruling". How outdated can such a word become? I mean harm is harm.
Endangered specie's habitats are now open for development. Opening them up to drilling, mining, farming and even real estate development. This could mean the death and impacting their ability to breed of countless animals. That could mean the annihilation of breeds we have been carefully trying to bring back for decades.
We have to protect the plants and animals, and they should be safe from "habitat modification". Is more industry really that important? How important is our animals and plants? Should they all just be plowed under?
This isn't all that burned my cookies when I read about this. The Bears Ear National Monument in Utah has been a protected area since 2016. This is a sacred area to the Navajo, Hopi, Ute, and Zuni Native American tribes.
July 2026 Trump has slashed this monument yet again. And the way this is all being done is so TRUMP. He already has reduced the natural and cultural resources by 85% in 2017 and now 90% as of this month.

It will certainly pass at some point. But how much devastation, murder and such has to happen? It's going to take so long to repair this country.
