No, I'm not talking about the lyrics from a popular Abba song. But about the Illinois Lucky Day Lotto. I play it from time to time when the jackpots get a bit higher than where they start off after someone wins which is $100,000.
Right now, the jackpot for the midday draw is $550,000, which will grow to $600,000 for the evening draw if no one wins.
It usually never gets much past $1 million before someone wins and draws daily 2 times a day for $1 a ticket with 5 numbers. The odds of winning are about 1 in 1.2 million, which is much better than most other lotteries with bigger prizes.
If I win, I'd take home about $330,000 after taxes. Not a bad loot, and I will take it.
