You might not know the name, but you have probably heard of the symptoms people who get lesions all over their body, and thread like fibers in on their skin. It is thought to be primarily a psychiatric disease, but that doesn't really make sense to me. YOu can't fake fibers coming out of your skin. There is some evidence it is part of the same bacteria that manifests with Lyme disease, but not sure that has been proven conclusively. Some people no doubt do have primary psychiatric diagnoses those are the extreme cases, but for others it is truly something that happens to them like any other disease. Most doctors and dermatologists do not take their cases seriously unfortunately, and some sufferers will commit suicide. Their is a high rate of this..both due to the effects of the disease and the fact they are told much too frequently it is all in their heads. I watched a documentary on this disease and found it very eye opening.

It doesn't ring any bells for me.
But there are diseases that affect the skin, as well as our insides that doctors do not necessarily take as seriously as they could.
Lupus is a bit like that, and I have a lifetime of dealing with the skeptical looks from those in the medical profession as well as others. People shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Yes, they did mention Lupus as a condition that wasn't treated like the serious disease it is..until it was clinically proven it was there.

@snowy22315 I know, my Dad lived most of his life with Lupus.
He could be fine one minute and then so sick that he'd have to go to bed, the next minute.
In the end, after it raged his joints, it set into his organs, namely his liver and spleen, and then it was just a matter of a very short time before it was in his blood. The poor guy suffered from the illness as well as being judged by people who really have no idea........

No
I know nothing about this at all
And reading what you have to say about it, I don't want to know about it.

I would say it is the opposite. Being unfortunate enough to have this disease sounds like enough to give you a psychiatric disease. I have vaguely heard of it but not much.

Never heard of it at all nor familiar with such symptoms.
It's sad that they're not taken seriously by dermatologists. I wish somebody would and change how this disease is treated.

I've never heard of it. I can't believe it's all in their heads. As if anyone is going to will fibres coming out of their skin.
