A freak accident kills 5 people

There was a breaking news article in my area about a week ago. The story was horrifying and tragic, and something that almost no one ever thinks will happen. There was a family of five, one adult and four children, that had had their car stopped alongside the road for a flat tire. The woman called the children's father to help them change the tire. When he got there, he found all five people in the vehicle passed out, and he called the cops. The police came and checked out the situation because it was bizarre to have a whole family passed out inside their car with nothing and no one suspicious around them. No evidence of foul play. They figured it out later. There was something wrong with the AC that brought carbon monoxide into the car. That car had actually been under recall for this kind of thing happening. I had never heard about this sort of thing happening, and had no clue it could happen. I knew carbon monoxide was a thing and a very serious thing. I know not to close the garage door with the car on. I know how serious it can all be, but I never thought a car outside of the garage could cause this kind of issue. To be fair, I also don't know a lot about cars. When I told my husband about the issue, he mentioned he knew that exact car model had been under recall for that kind of thing happening. It was a Ford Explorer I believe, but I'm not sure what year, so if you drive a Ford Explorer, you might want to check out the recall, because that situation is absolutely terrifying. Sadly, no one in the car survived. The last person died on Friday. He was only 4 years old. The oldest of the four children were two 4-year-old twins. The adult driving was their step-grandmother, from my understanding, and she was only in her 30s. A mother lost all of her children in a freak accident. I don't know anyone who would worry about an AC killing an entire family. I told my husband that a new fear has been unlocked.
