I saw a dish prepared on Food Network that I really wanted to try. It was a chicken brined in ice tea, sugar and lemons and limes. I thought I would make that tonight, as I made sure I had the items, but I thought I had a whole chicken cut up in the freezer, but they turned out to be breasts. The other thing is that chicken dish is supposed to marinate overnight in the brine..so next time I go shopping I will get more chicken..and maybe make it this weekend or something. I am kind of disappointed though because today is a cool day. It would have been nice.

The tea has tanins in it that helps to tenderize the meat.

I daresay , but I don't like the taste . I would have to leave it out or use something else if possible.

That's always disappointing when you've planned a meal and then realize you're missing one key ingredient or step. The good news is that now you know the recipe needs to marinate overnight, so next time you can plan ahead and hopefully enjoy it the way it was intended.

That sounds like an interesting combination of ingredients to marinate the chicken in, Hope you get to try it as I'm curious to hear how it comes out.
