Looking Forward to Grandparents Day

We have Mother's Day and Father's Day in our calendar. But is there a Grandparents' Day ? I have never heard of any. But tomorrow Grandparents' Day will be celebrated in our parish church.
To make this day special for the grandparents a few special events are organised. First of all a high Holy Mass will be offered. After mass the grandparents of the parish will be called to the altar and felicitated with new towels, a token of honour. Songs of felicitation will be sung by children and women. Next , a breakfast will be served to all present.
It's an occasion I recall my grandparents lovingly and gratefully, both on my father's side and my mother's.

That's a lovely way to celebrate grandparents. Such older people are very special and have a special place in our hearts.

I think there is one supposedly in September here, but it hasn't caught on.
