So, friend found out his sister in law has bone cancer. He hasn't seen her for years though. We used to go over to their place when they lived part time on the Eastern shore of Maryland and those were some really fun weekends. They had a place right on the Choptank river near the Chesapeake Bay and we would go crabbing, ride bikes, go for ride in the boat and barbecue or eat out. Some of the best weekends of my life were spent there. Even if you were just sitting in the house you could view seagulls and boats on the water. Poor Suzie. They sold the place they had there on the water and moved further away. I told friend I would take him there to see them as he complained of the drive several times, but the real reason is they did not want his dog there and he was offended. I only met Suzie a few times, as she wasn't often at the place on the water, although we did go there for Thanksgiving once. Sigh can't send her a get well card, as she will not be well..unless she spontaneously goes into remission.

Yes, I could also tell her how much I enjoyed the weekends at the Eastern Shore, but she wasn't there for most of them.

You can absolutely get a thinking of you or praying for you card, and I hope you do. Every little bit of encouragement helps. And there are miracles every single day, plus people are living longer than ever before.

I will if I can find a suitable one. I feel I should do something.

That is a tough diagnosis. I have a friend who suffered from it, she lost her husband during her final months, and because her immune system was low, she could not go out at all and since it was before grocery delivery, she had to rely on family to shop for her and leave it outside on her porch. My cousin passed away from it too. It was painful, she was diagnosed during her first pregnancy and passed away before the baby was a year old. Send her something thoughtful, she will adore it. Something to look over and change her focus.

I am so sorry, I hope that she is not in pain. I would not send a get well card, we know that miracle exist, but it does not seem right.

May I ask how far along she is?

The details are sketchy. The only thing I know is that she doesn't want any intervention. She's in her 80's and probably feels she has lived long enough. Hopefully, as she gets further along she will agree to some morphine or something. She can probably do hospice at home. I do know she waited some time before she informed her family of the situation.

@snowy22315 I wish her well. I am younger than her. I am dealing with some not so friendly news also.
