Today has been a really nervous day for me as I have 2 job interviews lined up. The first one ended very quickly as they require for me to drive and I cannot drive. But still I prepared a lot for the interview. Now waiting for second one in 2 hours time. I am really struggling to find a suitable nursing job. Can you believe it? I have been searching for 6 months now and I am really starting to panic. Is the job market also tough where you are?

I don't think it should be that hard to see a nursing job. I'm surprised. Hope you get the job though. Goodluck with the second interview

I am so surprised as well. I was thinking I could rest for 2 months and find job right away like my previous jobs but it’s been 6 months now and nothing. Nursing jobs now require lots of prerequisite trainings when before most hospitals will fund your training.

@Wrexxo I am currently in the UK. Nursing jobs has always been easy to acquire here until this year. I don’t know what I am doing wrong.

@flapiz I'm sorry that you've been struggling for so long. I can understand. I was out of work for a good part of last year. It's not easy. I do hope that things change for you.

Thanks Dominique. I have been struggling to find work since February. I think where we moved is not really where most hospitals and healthcare settings are.

Six months is a long time to be searching, so I can understand why you're starting to feel discouraged. And having the first interview end almost immediately because of a driving requirement must have been frustrating, especially after you spent so much time preparing for it.

Thank you for your empathy. I was cramming and studying for the first interview and it was a bit disheartening. I did have a more positive 2nd interview but I think it was the HR so I still would need interview with the ward manager. I hope this is it. I love being at home and my husband can afford it but I want to be able to stand on my own two feet. I am too young to be a housewife with no kids.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX the interview went well. She said she will forward my CV to the ward manager and crossing my fingers they like me.

Are you still in the UK? I see you are still in the UK I thought you were already a nurse. The NHS is crying out for Nurses, isn't it?

Still in the UK. So I heard but they are very picky. I have 12 years nursing experience and I cannot get a job. I think AI screening the CVs are flawed.

@Ineeddentures My husband had enough of commuting 2 hours from Bath to London and 2 hours from London to Bath.So we moved to London early this year. I thought it was a no brainer he earns 4x than what I earn and I am a nurse it should be easy to find a job. But 6 months now and still searching.

That is very surprising that you're finding it difficult to find a nursing job. I would think they would be looking for nurses and you would have your pick of which one to accept. Hope you find one and that it's perfect for you.

I was also expecting to have my pick but it appears not. I guess it’s because where we relocated most nursing jobs are 1hr and 30 min away. My second interview today seemed promising.
