I'm not that young buck anymore.

I have a problem ladies. When I'm out and about in the sunshine how do you walk past a woman from behind? I've noticed that guys in their 40s & 50s are treated as a threat and women constantly looking over their shoulder or reaching for the car keys when you need to pass them. I slow down and let them get ahead to avoid that. I cross the road to avoid that. I walk briskly past and wide and wave a little hand gesture that I'm cool and you wont need to chop me in the throat to avoid that. But it happens a lot now and I'm just wondering if women exaggerate the threat in their minds these days as social media tells them we are so terrible? An example of how guys respect women. There's a lovely lady I see out and about on the highstreet. I got up the nerve to say hi by using an excuse that I thought I used to work with her 20-years ago. She was polite and said know I'm not that lady you know. She said gets that a lot,a subtle hint that I know you're trying a line sir! I saw her two days later and she just walked by and said nothing . I got the message. She is not interested and she knows and I know that if she reciprocates a second stop and chat I will perceive that she is interested. It ended there. I did not pursue it. I know the rules. Why dont women realise we know the rules. I'm in my 50s. I'm not old but not young anymore. I have all my hair, a trim 11 stone and great legs and dark blue eyes. I still think I am 21. I'm not handsome but Im not ugly. So why is it that every woman mentally labels single guys in their 50s out and about as bloody creeps? Even the 50-year-olds do! Are we all paranoid now that something bad is going to happen? I'm sure women do have bad experiences with guys chatting them up that are drunk or pests or whatever but that isn't me.

@thedevilinme Negotiating women is a nightmare. If I’m alone walking wherever and a lone woman, or even a pack of them, walks towards me I panic. Should I smile and say hello or just look at the ground and ignore her? Either is bound to be the wrong thing.

It's no you! It's them. Nothing's wrong with you Phillip! But there certainly is something wrong with the world these days. That thought never entered my mind when I see older men. Need thought of them as a creep unless they act like one.

I agree with everything @toniganzon wrote. Nothing wrong with you, but many women had bad experiences.

I understand it's tough for guys. Vince loves to chat and/or interact with little kids but that's a no-no now too. We don't have grandchildren.

I think because they have heard that interlocking keys between your fingers can help to protect yourself.

Feminist insit men should be stabbed with the sharpest thing women carry if deemed a threat . Next time your on your own walking watch the handbag get clutched and the car keys come out early.lol

Not everyone thinks that. But I understand how difficult life can be when you have to worry that your simple everyday activities may be seen as threatening or creepy. It's very sad.
