Today is Eye-Exam Day

United States

Both hubby and I are getting our annual eye exams done. On a side note, the state of Kentucky now requires everyone to have a current eye exam (within 30-90 days) before they can renew their drivers licenses. Our licenses aren't due for renewal. That was just a side note. But anyway, I got progressive lenses (no lines) last year and haven't been able to use them because they make me sick/woozy. I think if she insists this year that I need glasses that I'm going to get lined bifocals instead. My close-up vision is getting worse and worse but I think my distance vision is pretty good. So anyway, that's our big expense . . . I mean . . . plans for the day.

You both have eye exams? Who’s gonna drive after they dilate your eyes?! Best of luck in getting glasses you can use!

@LooeyVille — I guess I get it every year because of the histoplasmosis scars.

They don't dilate our eyes. Haven't for years. They do it digitally.

I love that vision provision your state has. I have to get my eyes checked once a year because I take a medication to combat inflammation that can damage your eyes; so a yearly exam to make sure it hasn’t hurt them is necessary.

@LooeyVille I just got the news in my last exam that I have the beginnings of cataracts. Meanwhile, my dad is 71 with nary a whisper of one.

You are right, they are pretty pricey, but necessary. I think lined is cheaper than progressive, but I am not sure.

Good luck getting the glasses you want. I have progressives. They present no problem for me.

Hope your eye exam goes well and you can get the bifocals you want. When we renew our drivers license we have to read an eye chart there at the DMV
