There are days when everything seems to go wrong. Work piles up, little things don't go as planned, and by the evening I feel mentally exhausted. Over time, I've realised that I don't need anything big to feel better. It's usually the small habits that make the biggest difference.
One habit that never fails to improve my mood is making myself a nice cup of tea or coffee and sitting quietly for ten or fifteen minutes. No phone, no television, just a little time to slow down. Another habit I enjoy is writing a few lines in my diary or spending a few minutes reading something interesting. Even organising my desk gives me a surprising sense of calm.
These little routines don't solve my problems, but they help me reset my mind and look at things differently. It's amazing how such simple habits can change the way we feel.
Do you have one small habit that instantly makes your day better? Is it taking a walk, listening to music, chatting with a friend, reading, cooking, praying or something completely different? I'd love to hear what works for you.

One habit I have is getting some fancy chocolate. I usually do that in November for my birthday. I get truffles and they are so relaxing and enjoyable. It always helps my mood. I'm a foodie and am always trying some new brand or fancey Belgium goodies.
