Oh, absolutely. Probably the best thing about being retired is that I can stay up until 3 AM reading and the only consequence is my watch’s sleep function yells at me for not getting enough sleep.
My dear mother of blessed memory said I used to pull my hair out as a baby to keep from going to sleep, so apparently it’s a lifelong obsession with the night! “Just get me back to the night,” as Joan Armatrading sang…or as the Police put it, “Bring on the night!”

In a lot of ways I still am. I just adjusted my sleep schedule to go to bed when George does in case he needs help and so that I don't loose anymore time with him. I almost lost him three times when he had his stroke, and I don't want to loose anymore time.

I have been a night owl my entire life. I do have to get up early a lot of times but I am just not a person who likes going to bed early.

@traceyjayne I like my day to start around 6.30 with a shower, coffee and toast (no marmalade) a two mile walk along the shore followed by whatever supermarket needs a visit then home to hang the washing on the line if need be. All done by 9 then the day is my own.
