23 days until the ber months. Anyway, I was reading a comment this morning on Nextdoor from someone who's last name was Toppin. Neat name. I would like to have that as my last name. Snowy Toppin, or Topping. That's even better.

Nico is not that much of a mommy fan, but when he gets in the mood he is. I went to pet him this morning and he swatted at me, realizing my mistake, I asked his permission..same thing..of course two minutes later when I was sitting on the toilet he was all rubbing against my legs and such. Then walking out here same thing. Of course he wanted fed. He will come and sit on me, or lie down with me if he is in the mood, but it has to be completely on his terms. I wish he wasn't such a touchy kitty. I never had one like this. He's his own unique guy though I guess.

Yes, that would be the topping. I am going to try adding a cat who likes me to the house. First though, I will try Nico on Prozac to see if that improves his mood. Most of the way he reacts is fear based.

@Ineeddentures I don't think so, he was just not socialized well. He was picked up as a stray as a younger kitten and lived in a cage in a busy vets office. They took care of him there, but didn't have time to give him much attention. He is rather afraid of other animals too. My dog I had was kind of similar although not touchy. He lived in a kennel at the animal shelter for several weeks with his sister. He never liked other dogs, and was suspicious of men.

Cats are terrible, they want to be petted "only" when they are in the right mood, or when they want attention to get food. My neighbor and I are feeding a young stray here. We heard him crying two nights ago, yesterday we went out to buy cat food and she put the food in her garden.

Sadie used to growl and nip at me when I’d pet her. I kept doing it because she’s not the boss of me. Now, she absolutely loves it. I’m not saying to do that with Nico; cats are totally different. Sadie had just really changed since I adopted her.

It feels like such a rejection..hard not to take personally.
. Like They are saying get the H. out of here..make yourself useful and rustle up some cat grub, and maybe then we'll talk.
