Glad I am a good swimmer

So, I was down at the lake earlier of course on the beach there was a little kid there with a dog running around. I love how they disregard leash laws in this community. Everyone with a dog seems to think they don't apply to them. Well, anyway all of the piers here have ladders attached and is an alternative swimming location. I went to the newest pier the one we had to pay megabucks to replace..yeah, I was happy about that... Anyway, I went down the ladder which was hard to go down the steps were far apart, I almost fell. Not that big of a deal but I am not a big fan of having my head underwater. So, I did my swimming in that area, and when I was ready to get out..I went to that ladder and could not get up it. I had seen my son use it before but of course he is taller and stronger than I am. Anyway, I thought well that stinks..I will have to go over to the beach and get out there. That was a long swim at least 100 yards. Of course as I got closer I could stand up. I wasn't worried about doing it, but it was a long way. Alternatively, there was another ladder one of these old style piers that I knew I could get up..but anyway..so after all the swimming I still had to walk all the way down on the hot pier to get my stuff..practically burning my feet. Sigh! Not swimming off that pier again.
