at least according to WalletHub. They used metrics like safety, health care, and education among other things to rank the 50 states. Idaho was the only state to score higher. Many visitors are people passing through or landing at Newark (Liberty) International Airport. The drive through there is through oil refineries that stink, docks, and ports. It looks like an industrial wasteland. I get it. I don't even like going through that area. Still, as the article states, it is called "The Garden State" for a reason. We have beautiful beaches. We are close to New York City and Philadelphia. We have Atlantic City. There are mountains in the northwestern part of the state. We have the Pine Barrens. We have a little bit of everything except desert. We have all 4 seasons. People love to bash New Jersey. Those who do that likely haven't been here or have only been on the Turnpike up north. We have a woman here at the facility from Michigan. She has been here for 2 months. I asked her if she thought NJ was as bad as people think. She said that she loves it here and if she didn't have kids at home she would stay here to do sober living. See? NJ isn't as bad as people think!

I didn’t think too much of New Jersey much until I met you. I also don’t think those fools on Jersey Shore did anyone any favors. You talk so well of the place I think I’d like to visit. It’s also small, and I tend to like the smaller states.

The irony is that the idiots on Jersey Shore were from Staten Island, NY. They were tourists here. We call them "bennies" which is a derogatory term for obnoxious tourists from NY.

I bet your public transportation system is tons better than mine. I just don't want to live with so many people near me.

We are the most densely populated state. That is true. There is no public transportation to speak of aside from large cities. Where I live you absolutely need a car.
