Out of Stock

I was wondering about the frequency you found your medicine to be out of stock. Yesterday, my kooky doctor did indeed call in my prescription. Unfortunately, it was out of stock at the pharmacy. That’s the second time this week two different pharmacies have been out of my prescription. I realize some are really common, and they are getting yesterday’s prescription restocked today. Meanwhile, the other has been out for a week. Do you ever run into that problem?

I only remember once that the medication my husband needed was out of stock and no date was confirmed to get stocked. I got an alternative product.

That’s not allowable here, unfortunately. My doctor would have to go back, cancel the other, and request a different prescription.

@AmbiePam It was allowed in Switzerland, of course it must be the same medication, but another brand is fine.

No, I haven’t had that problem. The only thing I might have is the “civilian” pharmacy having to order the particular generic brand of Prozac that I take (the “inactive ingredients” in some of the generics make me sick to my stomach), which usually takes a day.

Yes, it's happened, the most recent example was when I was getting the epi pen. They didn't have any. However, it just sits here. I haven't had an allergic reaction to anything.

None of my prescriptions have been "out-of-stock" so far... Once in a while I forget to get a prescription refilled, though.

No, fortunately, I've never had that problem with the VA. People might have a lot of problems with the VA, but I've never had to wait for a med.

It must really be frustrating that the medicine one uses is out of stock. I have never experienced that though
