Even the National Weather Service sent us an emergency alert this morning.

We get local alerts, of course, like everyone else gets. If you sign up, they beep your phone, etc. and tell you what's happening or what to expect. We got flood warnings off and on all night, and it honestly felt like a hurricane rain for a while. Then early this morning, after finally getting to sleep for at least 45 minutes, the big alert came from the National Weather Service. Our entire area is pretty much flooded. The estimate for where I am is that we got up to 7 inches of rain in just a few hours. The streets are mostly covered, there are new lakes in yards, and people who have basements are desperate for a second sump pump, etc. Some people who live in the lower areas have water in their homes. They are recommending we stay home, and stay off the roadways, highways, etc. until the water goes down. That's enough excitement for our weekend!

Wow! You guys have really been clobbered. I guess it is an inside day for you and son. It rained quite a bit last night here..some parts of the area had severe weather but all we got was rain. I'm not complaining.

It has rained all night every night for 5 consecutive nights, and we've had some showers in the daytime as well. But it started last night and it was just pounding down for hours and hours. Insanity.

I hope your areas is not going to be flooded. We never have a flooding problem here, because we are uphill.

There are hilly places here, but mostly it's pretty flat in a lot of the area. And it's a LOT of water out there. Thanks, Anna

It’s a solid red (for flash flooding) from Bloomington-Normal to the Indiana/Ohio border. Praying for you and everyone affected. Stay safe!

We are safe and I hope we don't have to go anywhere today for anything. It would be for emergency only, and no one wants that. I am thankful to be safe, but sorry for those that are fighting water in their house!

So much rain for you this last little while. No sense washing your car if the skies are just going to open back up again and downpour.

We had a lot of rain for several days about 3 weeks ago, and some of the area farmers lost crops that were in standing water for days and days. I feel sorry for the farmers.
