Of course friend won't follow up with his doctors so we don't know for sure what is wrong with him, but son treats him like an invalid and I am not sure why. I mean he doesn't have a lot of energy but was able to do a good bit of the driving when we went up to PA without a problem. I think treating him as sicker than he actually is is probably counter productive. When friend has something he is motivated to do like take someone shopping or to do a notary assignment he seems very able to do it..so I don't get it. Son says he has a list of doctors and he doesn't know which one is his main one..it probably doesn't matter because friend is unlikely to follow through anyway.

Your friend seems to be a very stubborn one.

In a way this is kind of like George. I can see that he often doesn't have energy and is getting weaker, but when he's highly motivated to do something like get groceries he's all for it no questions asked.

It's frustrating. I am sure there are days they feel better than others, but we all have those.

I am sure he would if he got proper medical treatment. I think he just don't have the courage to really find out what is wrong.
Thanks

People like this are hard to help. I think I'd eventually would give up even trying.
