Have you ever donated blood before?

I have tried several times over the years...let's just say they don't want mine. I wish I could donate, I know it saves lives. The US is at a critical point for blood. Donations are at a 4 year summertime low. The Red Cross is limiting the amount of blood they can send to hospitals for transfusions, surgeries, etc. and people are actually waiting in some cases for blood. If you can donate blood, someone may be kept alive by your donation. If you have already donated, you've definitely blessed someone. Just thoughts here. And thank you if you have donated, it means so much.

I tried but I always fail in the pre-qualification because I normally lack sleep.

I haven't donated any blood yet. But it is something that I have thought about doing. Something I'll look into for sure.

It truly does make the difference. Without more blood donations many will not survive.

I did once in high school. After spending a year in England back in the mad cow years they didn't want mine. I recently received a transfusion of platelets that I desperately needed. I was very grateful to receive them. My level was even lower a few weeks ago. I didn't require a transfusion as my body was able to get it back to a safe level. They are back to a normal number now.
