One of our suppliers who would visit the office every Friday seems to have a unique way of greeting me. He would touch my shoulder each and every single time. I really don't like it but I don't want to seem rude coz he's old. So every time he comes into the office, I would just stay away. But today, I wasn't able to escape because I didn't notice that he was about to enter as I was just about to go out. I was surprised when somebody suddenly touched my shoulder and said hello.

Does he do that to everyone or just you? Seems kind of creepy.

This is annoying and not polite. I also dislike to be touched.

I hope he's not being malicious. Perhaps you could politely and discreetly refuse to have him do that to you. Perhaps he's just unaware of your discomfort.

There was an old man who used to do that to me when I worked at Walmart until the day he startled me and I yelled "Don't touch me!" Some of the other employees said they jumped and looked to see who was touching me... He never did that again! I don't have a problem with people I'm familiar with touching me to get my attention or to direct my attention toward somethng but he was creepy and wasn't a friend. THAT I didn't like!

I think you should let him know. It will keep continuing if you don't speak up

I do not like people that I do not know touching me.
