By the way, there should be an "s" in front of "hit".
Verizon is a mobile phone service provider.
Our bill went up $20 for no reason. So I called Verizon Customer Support. I could barely hear the person I was talking to. They said they had removed our loyalty discount. We were still loyal customers, so why did they remove the discount? The agent on the phone talked in circles, so I finally told him/her that I was going to go to my local store instead.
We went to our local store. We told the agent we wanted to downgrade our plans to simpler less costly plans. The agent said she doesn't get any commission for that and told us to go home and do it ourselves. She did inform us though that we'd owe nearly $1,000 if we switched plans because we got our "free phones" last year and they would retro-charge us if we changed plans.
So we went home and tried calling Verizon Customer Support once again. This person said she could help but kept saying she was restarting her system. After 20 minutes she said she'd call us back in 2 minutes. 15 minutes later she texts us and tells us to do it ourselves.
They've pretty much got us over a barrel at this point because if we change plans or carriers we'll owe $1,000 for the phones.

Well, you can look for those that “promise” to buy you out of your current contract….

I will never go back to Verizon. @AmbiePam told me about Visible and even though it is through Verizon it is WAY cheaper. We pay $25 each for Chris phone and my phone. Get unlimited everything and I've only found a mile or two that we dont have service. We've ran the whole house off the hotspot with no throttling or anything.
I may of had to pay $200 for my phone (well actually I didn't. Chris got it for me for Christmas) but Id rather pay for my phone once and own it outright and have a cheaper bill.
Plus our cheap o Visible service works everywhere that the kids Verizon contract phones dont.

Like Andy of Mayberry used to say "Don't that just beat all?"

Yup! That's the reason we always bought our phones outright instead of going through one of the plans. I like Verizon towers but don't like their Customer Service.

Verizon is the worst possible provider. It barely even works for some people here who are stuck in a contract, like you. I had Verizon when I moved up here, and IF it worked at all, I was cut off on every call, repeatedly. Oldest son has us on a family plan, so it was up to him, he was having problems as well as his wife, so he changed to AT&T. I do have to say it has been excellent. I'm sure sorry they are messing with you.
