My little one is off to kindergarten

The day I have dreaded all summer has arrived. My little ones first day of kindergarten. She was very excited thankfully.
The school didn’t give us any estimated time for pick up so I just kind of guessed and we went out to wait at 7:40. Her bus drove past us at 8 which is the time they should usually all arrive at the school. We were baffled.
Ten minutes later another bus stopped and picked her up. I asked if they changed her bus and they said just for this morning. So we had stood outside a total of a half hour. We will try going out tomorrow at 7:50 and hopefully things roll more smoothly with the buses. The first two days are always hectic with delays etc.
My husband slept in this morning and was with us to get my little one on the bus. My nerves are awful but I’m actually doing better than I was two days ago.
I’ve been cleaning since she left since I slacked off on the housework the last week to get extra time with her.
I start babysitting a 1 year old two days a week starting September 7.
My son works 2-8 today and my oldest goes in at 7pm and works until 7am. My stepson called my husband a few days ago. He has some kind of rash and they aren’t sure what it is. They think some kind of exposure to something or allergies. I’m anxiously awaiting an update on that. Since she’s on a ship and it takes awhile for lab results to be sent across boats and back to the states it may be awhile until we hear. Hopefully by then it clears up and doesn’t get any worse.

@shaggin Nope, did general dr. in my town, urgent care in larger city next to us, new primary dr. in next town, referred dermatologist and also allergy specialist. Had biopsy come back inconclusive, and I had 2 done. Allergist said testing would not point to anything specific and hard to pinpoint since there are so many things that could have set it off, so I didn't go through with the testing. I cared for the garden and that was the only thing I did different so must have been something planted or some kind of weed.

@snowy22315 she loved pre-k and is very social so I think she will do great. One of my sisters best friends from high school is her teacher so I know her very well. The house is getting a good cleaning. I see I hadn’t tackled organizing the receipts since 2025.

I do hope the buses sort themselves out. It's always a bit stressful when little ones first go off to kindergarten.

I have never forgotten my son's first day at school. Its been like 8 years but still fresh on my mind. Hope as days go by things will move more smoothly

Oh, do I ever get this. The youngest was the hardest...I had a very hard time with it, even though she was more than ready for school and was so excited. It was hard to not let her know that I was sad. Those early years just go so very fast.
I hope your stepson will be OK.

how time flies so fast
