Actor Tim Curry, who originated the role of Dr. Frank N. Furter in the stage production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show as well as the classic 1975 film, has died at the age of 80. He had been living with devastating effects of a massive stroke for over a decade. He also originated the role of the evil Pennywise the clown in the 1990 miniseries, which also starred acclaimed actors like Richard Thomas, John Ritter, Richard Masur, Annette O'Toole, Harry Anderson and more. In Annie he played Rooster, the brother of Carol Burnette's character Miss Hanagan. He liked roles that tested boundaries.

He struggled with effects of a stroke but still mentioned he did well in life.

I've never seen Rocky Horror. I know him best from the campy movie Clue. I showed it to my Forensic Science classes a couple of years ago and they were thoroughly unimpressed. I still think is is funny though.
I read years ago that he actually was a very disagreeable man even before the stroke. That has always colored my view of him.

I remember him most as Rooster Hannigan from Annie, and I loved him in that. Rocky Horror Picture Show was before my time, but I DO remember they did a live version of it on FOX, back in 2016, and this time, since he was in a wheelchair, he played the narrator. I absolutely loved him.

i didn't know he was the orignal Pennywise maybe cause i'm not a fan of horror movies
. i really liked him in home alone 2 and the three muskeeters. yes, he had that stroke. he shall be missed. also, after dolly, this is another sudden news. bad one, of course. also, i thought he had a fake accent in home alone but in real life, he was indeed british.
