Have you noticed a difference in medical professionals?

For most of my life, my primary care doctor was an MD, mainly a doctor of internal medicine. Most recently, my last two have been Nurse Practitioners. The first one I had, I loved. He was the best primary care medical professional I ever had. The new one that just took over for him? Not as crazy about her, but that very well could be a temporary feeling. My dad’s primary care right now is a Physician’s Assistant (his name is Storm Eagle, what a great name!), and he actually think his PA is the best primary medical “doctor” he’s ever had. I think the NPs aren’t as full of themselves. Maybe because they’ve been disrespected before for not being an official doctor.
What has been your experience?

Yes, there are some dumb doctors.
And you are right about nurses. My dad had a nurse warn him about a treatment a doctor prescribed for my very sick mother. Thanks to the nurse, my very young mother’s dementia didn’t get any worse than it already was.

There are a lot of dumb doctors here and experienced nurses are much smarter than them.

Hmm, not sure I go to the doctor enough to notice a big difference. I have ink seen my current INE once. He us very prompt with calling in prescriptions though I'll say that.

I’ve had both doctors and nurse practitioners over the years, and honestly, the title hasn’t mattered nearly as much as the person. Some of the most attentive healthcare providers I’ve seen were NPs because they seemed to spend more time listening and explaining things. On the other hand, I’ve also had excellent MDs who were thorough and compassionate.
I think what most patients value is feeling heard and respected.

I never really thought of what kind of doctor they were to be honest. I am not even sure what my doctors degrees are. But I like my family doctor, and my endocrinologist...they are nice.
That is a good thought they, that maybe they are that way for going through that

I had one when my gallbladder issues first started that I loved. Him and his Nurse dude were both great. They really listened to me and helped me.
But a few of the new people are not great.
