Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I will start with the weigh in, since that is what the main thing about Friday's health discussion is. Starting weight - 242 Last week - 226.8 Today - 230 I am a bit less than what I weighed 2 weeks ago, but not last Friday. I know part of it has to do with over doing it on my carb day, but by now I should have burned that off, so not sure what is going on. I would just get back down to the 15 pound loss by when I go to my doctor on Wednesday. Now, what did I eat the last 3 days? Wednesday -- Meal 1 - Arby's double beef n cheddar - no bun or red ranch (only had 3 carbs) Meal 2 - 12 lit'l smokies (sausages) with sugar free bbq sauce (I am allowing it since it does not have the bad seed oils) Meal 3 - 5.5 oz sirloin steak cooked in butter Macros - 1,316 calories, 10 carbs, 103 fat, 86 protein Thursday -- Meal 1 - 1/2 oz of the sirloin steak (decided I wasn't in a steak mood) So instead I had a protein drink Snack - 2 cheese sticks, a bit of butter Meal 2 - 8 oz salmon, 2 tablespoons of butter, and 2 slices of cheese Macros - 1,154 calories, 6 carbs, 84 fat, 96 protein Today -- Meal 1 Protein drink Meal 2 - 10 lit'l smokies with sugar free BBQ sauce Meal 3 - 2 eggs cooked in butter, 5 slices of bacon, 1 sausage patty Macros -- 1,183 calories, 11 carbs, 93 fat, 79 protein I think for the 3 days my macros were pretty good. I kept the fat and protein up. Two of the days my carbs were higher than I would like, but I might not buy the protein drinks any more because I think they do affect my blood sugar. It is just a nice way to get protein in when I don't want to cook, or eat meat. Anyways -- what do you think of the 3 days and the weigh in? I am definitely upset that I have gone up 3 pounds overall.

Cut down on the butter and it will help. And you need veggies. Protein by itself isn’t going to do it.

Butter is not the problem, and I absolutely do not need veggies. Not one bit. I need nutrients, but plenty are found in meat and eggs.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yes you do need veggies. Sustaining yourself on red meat is not good for you I don’t care what internet fad or study you’ve seen. You need stuff other than red meat and fat. That is not sustainable for your heart or your health. And any real doctor will tell you the same , and also to incorporate other forms of protein. Chicken. Why not add chicken into your diet. You don’t need to be defensive when someone is just trying to give you hints on how to make yourself healthier. Keto does include diets. And it does not include butter that often and if it does it is 100 percent butter or homemade.

@thislittlepennyearns No, it is the carbs that is bad for my health. I do not at all need veggies. This aint no fad diet either. It is the proper human diet. and I have done the research, and I am healthier than I have been in years in just a couple weeks. and I am following the advise of a doctor, who eats carnivore himself. and I am not being defensive, just explaining that I am not a dang moron. But sure I will go back to carbs and let my sugar be over 200, no thanks.

You keep adding butter to everything, can you use too much? I’m genuinely curious. I know that they want fats in what you eat, but do you have to have so much to do the diet right? I don’t really eat butter a whole lot so I’m not sure how much non Keto people are even supposed to eat. You’re still putting in effort, and I’m proud of you for that.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yeah, I know… Perhaps you’ll see a really big difference when you cut the shakes out.

@AmbiePam I apologize. I am sure I am annoying everybody here with it. And maybe, I think there are certain ingredients in it that my body just doesn't like.

Well I follow someone who says "butter makes your pants fall off" lol, and there is the saying "don't blame the butter for what the bread did". Yeah you could probably eat too much butter. I follow carnivores who eat a whole stick throughout the day. If you eat carbs, yes butter probably is not advised because with carbs fat is not good. This way of eating is a high fat diet, and high protein

Protein drinks are not something I indulge in, so I can’t tell whether they are affecting your weight. Your calorie intake is low, so in theory you should be losing weight, unless you aren’t telling us everything you are eating? I also don’t know what “lit’l smokies” are. Are they hotdogs? I definitely approve of the salmon, as I have it once or twice a week myself. Very good for you. High in Omega 3! Hopefully the weight gain is just a blip on your journey

They should in theory be fine, but if they are spiking my insulin, then yes they could be causing weight issues. Yes it is, although higher than my first 2 weeks, I was struggling to get over 1000 calories. But it should still be moving down. They are little sausages, I guess kind of like hot dogs. But taste better lol That's great you have Salmon too, it's so good. I could probably eat it daily if that was safe lol Oh I sure hope. Hoping to get these extra pounds off by Wednesday, but IDK if I will

I love the effort you put in losing weight...but my thoughts...Scale weight jumps around a lot from water, salt, and that carb day, so the 3 pound bump doesn’t mean you gained fat. ...Your last three days look solid on the low carb front with decent protein and fat, just watch those protein drinks if they mess with your blood sugar. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll likely be back closer to that 15-pound loss by Wednesday...

Oh I do understand that happens, I just had thought by now I would have lost the 5 that I gained after my "cheat" day. Thinking it might be the protein drinks bothering my weight; or possibly the cheese. I thought they did too, so I thought I would have at least lost those 3 extra pounds. But we'll see what happens
