Forget the tower, just taste the gnocchi!

So, Pisa. It’s a wonderful place, but I’m not here to observe the dodgy architecture of the torre pendente, I’m here for food and atmosphere and I’m very satisfied so far.
At lunch I had the best gnocchi that I’ve ever tasted, in a wonderful sauce. My wife had ravioli and my daughter had penne alla bolognese - they were both very pleased.
Something that I find quite odd is people drinking aperol spritz with their pizza. I consider aperol spritz to be a cocktail, something to enjoy on its own. In Pisa restaurants (in the tourist area) advertise ‘taglio e aperol spritz €10’.
And what do you know, while I was walking along the lungarno I met someone who I know! Small world.

It is indeed a small world.
Aperol Spritz, not one I have ever heard of.
I wonder if I should know what it is

@ineeddentures Aperol spritz is a bit of a girly drink if one is allowed to say so. It’s all the rage in Europe.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pasta... When Pretty and I took vacations out of our home state, I always seemed to meet people I knew. Pretty once asked me if I knew everybody.

Everywhere I was during my trip two weeks ago was promoting aperol spritz drinks. I kept meaning toto find out what that was. I shall look it up now
