@AmbiePam wrote about her parents' supposed 51st anniversary which reminded me of mom and dad.
56 years of being married if they were still alive and I am certain they would still be. We would have celebrated their 50th wedding with a renewal of vows and a big family gathering inviting each and every relative and friends!
But I could only sigh...I wish they were still alive. They loved each other too much that they decided to die at the same time.

@LadyDuck I wanted to ask actually if you wish to celebrate it but held myself back coz it might make you feel sad. But I am glad that you will. Even if it's just you.

My parents were married for 50 years, and my dad passed aways suddenly of a heart attack just shy of their 51st wedding anniversary. And my mom passed away two years after my dad. However, if they hadn't passed away, they would still be going strong in the marriage. This year would have been their 60th anniversary had they both still been alive.

I've heard of married people that pass away at the same time
like that, it's a bitter sweet thing, we've been married for 30 yrs
this Sept 4th been together for 40 yrs a yr B-4 we got married.

My sister renewed their views last year on their 25th. My mom parents would have done the same and in their 50th too for sure.

Mom loved her husband more than her children so much so that she was willing to die with him than be with us.

That’s such a bittersweet thought. ?? I can understand why hearing about someone else’s anniversary would bring your parents to mind, especially when you can so clearly picture the celebration you would have had for their 50th. Fifty-six years together is such an incredible legacy of love, and I’m sure that gathering would have been filled with stories, laughter, and probably a few tears too. I’m sorry you never got to have that day with them. It sounds like you still carry their love with you, though, and that’s something no anniversary date can ever take away.

They were murdered in 1991. It was tragic but thinking how my mom chose to die with my dad rather than live with us, tells us how much she loved him.
