Happy Sunday morning to all of you! I'm spending the weekend in the Orlando, Florida area, and for those of you know what major mouse-themed theme park is in Orlando, you're already groaning and thinking, "that guy went to Disney again?"
Well, surprise surprise, our adventures this weekend are taking us to places other than Disney World! Well, I guess that is not entirely true, as one of our stops on Saturday brought us to Disney Springs (a huge entertainment and shopping district), which is technically still part of the Disney World resort area. But we didn't go to the theme parks, which is probably a first for us!
Now, now, before you pick yourself up off the floor from shock, we did plan to go to Epcot on Saturday afternoon, but hellacious afternoon thunderstorms changed those plans. It was the first day of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, and we had planned to imbibe in many libations and delicious food offerings until Mother Nature decided otherwise. So we focused on indoor shopping throughout the day. We did end up eating an incredible Halloween menu at a local hangout in Disney Springs, which I will write about later.
As always, my day started out with coffee. I discovered an amazing cold brew pumpkin coffee called Pumpkin Carriage Cold Brew, offered at a local coffee company named Joffrey's.
What have you been up to so far this weekend?

Are you riding around on your motorbike for fun, or for work purposes?

@nawala123 Nice! It's so hot here I wouldn't mind going swimming as well.

I admit to being shocked as soon as I got to the part about not going to actual Disney World. You scared me, thought you might be sick, Jeff!
Glad you had plenty of places to go and things to see and do, although a day of shopping can be dangerous to the pocketbook! And while the coffee sounds good, in the mornings I prefer a plain giant cup or two of hot and steamy dark roast. To me, that's always been the way to drink coffee! I will drink an iced coffee occasionally, but not often.
I will check back and read up on the Halloween menu thing, that sounds like fun!

I did start off my early morning with a cup of hot Joe, but by the time I had my second cup of coffee, it was way too hot and humid to go for a hot beverage, so I went with the cold brew instead. I'm usually not a cold brew fan, but they flavored this one just right. I'm a huge fan of pumpkin spice and pumpkin flavoring, but a lot of foods and drinks overdue/overpower the pumpkin flavoring. Thankfully, this iced coffee I had was made just perfect!

My daughter and I both love pumpkin spice stuff. I am glad you enjoyed it, however I am surprised you didn't scare up a few pumpkin spice muffins or a huge slab of pumpkin pie to go with it~
Hopefully it won't get too hot for you there today. But it's Florida, so it most probably will. Have a good Sunday, Jeff.

@MarieCoyle Although it seems every restaurant and coffee house is offering pumpkin spice lattes and coffees now (it's only AUGUST), I haven't really seen any pumpkin pie or pumpkin muffins or anything like that yet. But I know it's coming.

We are chilling this weekend and mainly just hanging around the house. I'm trying to get more stuff out of the SUV and tagged and back in there for flea market drop off this week.
And yes, I'm shocked that ya'll did not go into the theme parks!! Sorry that Epcot got all rained out. That sounds like a good time there with the festival!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I am usually sleep deprived whenever we venture to Orlando and the theme parks, but because of the torrential storms, we just went back to our hotel and just chilled and ended up getting lots and lots of sleep. There’s nothing better than sleeping through a rain storm.
Glad you rested, and also that you had a great church service.

Huh? There are other things in Orlando besides Mouse Land???
(Of course there are, I went through boot camp there!)
I rested up yesterday. Today it’s shopping day. As it’s getting hotter, it’s also stay inside day!

@moffittjc — if you want that real amusement park feel, give me $100 and I’ll let you stand in the hot sun on my driveway for six hours!

Okay, I will admit, all of our adventures this weekend are mouse related, although not directly at the mouse-themed parks. There is a huge pop-up Disney market at Dezerland Park in Orlando, and we wanted to check out (and buy) lots of locally made Disney-themed items (think hundreds of Etsy shops set up in one place).
But in just two weekends we will be back at the theme parks doing what we do best (overspend money). lol

You're a worldly guy Jeff, so not totally surprised.
I actually thought of you last night while at the Bryan Adams Roll with the Punches concert.
I took this one for you, it is drone controlled and really cool to see in such a small venue-a hockey arena.

@moffittjc He is just wrapping up his North America tour, but he has a new album to be released in November, so perhaps another tour.
Check this one out.

Whoa, that is really cool! Thanks for the pic! I have never seen Bryan Adams in concert, but would love to see him perform live.

Happy Sunday! Sounds like you’re having quite the weekend—even without the Disney theme parks! ?? That pumpkin cold brew sounds absolutely delicious, and I’m definitely curious about that Halloween menu you mentioned. As for me, I’ve been having a pretty low-key weekend so far, just taking it easy and enjoying a slower morning. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need! Hope the rest of your weekend is just as much fun (and hopefully a little less stormy)! ???

It was absolutely delicious, even though I'm not normally an iced coffee person. But the other option was a pumpkin patch latte, and although it sounds (and probably tastes) amazing, it was just too hot out for a latte. I'll save the pumpkin patch latte for another visit.
I also had a martini flight (three sample martinis) at the place we ate lunch at, and all three were different types of pumpkin martinis. All were absolutely delicious!

You made me feel better when you said you had planned to go. Until then I was thinking you needed a safety check

Even though it stormed very badly for about 5 solid hours there yesterday, I still gave serious consideration to going to the theme parks, even with all the torrential rain and lightning! I do consider myself a die-hard Disney fan, but not that die-hard! lol
I did see a lot of videos on social media taken by guests at the theme parks who were caught in the storms, and in some of them it literally looked like a hurricane was blowing through!

I did enjoy the brew! It was so good, and so refreshing!
Opposite of your weather, here it has been raining all weekend. But we've been in a really bad drought, so all this rain is welcome.

It's a pity about the thunderstorm but glad it didn't spoil your afternoon too much, if at all.

But hey, who doesn’t love Disney?!
My weekend has been pretty good. I got some much needed sleep Saturday, and then had a great church service this morning.
