Poor squirels!

I remember about 30 years ago when we found a hurt squirel near the top of our driveway we called the County Animal Warden and they came out and got him. When he got well they brought him back to our yard and released him in case he had family here! That was very nice!
I called my sister today that lives in a different county and she said she couldn't talk because they were having a squirel emergency. I asked if one had got in their apartment and she said no. And continued that the mother squirel had gotten hit by a car last night and animal warden wouldn't come. So my brother-in-law had to put the animal out of her missery, she was going to die anyway.
However this morning they saw the squirel had babies! They called the wardens office back and they said they were coming.

How sad. I have family of them in the trees here. I call them Norm, Norma and Normette.
