Veteran teachers always tell the rookies to start documenting their experiences b/c they'd have a best seller by the end of their careers. I have to say that this is very true. Oh the stories I have about students, parents, coworkers, etc.
The best stories I have though are about my work BFF. We had classrooms side by side and shared a prep room for well over a decade. She was very private and introverted but I just put it all out there and eventually we became very good buddies. I might have shared the story about her giving me a bag of pretzels to hold with a live mouse in it. (if not let me know b/c thats a good one)
I always keep snacks on hand in case I don't bring lunch or if students need something to eat. I even have a Keurig for those coworkers who need a shot of caffeine. So one day she made one of my Velveeta shells and cheese in our microwave. I don't even know what happened bc presumably she cooked it for the usual amount of time.
You have to let it sit for a minute or 2 before stirring in the cheese sauce. I don't know what she did but the next thing we knew the plastic spoon was melted and deformed. We laughed so hard. So I bought an 8 pack (I think) of them and texted her yesterday that we will melt all of the spoons. She responded with all of the laugh emojis.
Oh well. You have to find ways to have fun because as my Monster always says "they call it work for a reason". I will keep you all updated on the plastic spoon situation!
