A Simply Autumn Day

Today can be best described as a typical early autumn day. We woke to a light rain, and it was overcast, and rainy for most of the day. We had light ran on and off all day long it seemed. We had to bring our umbrellas when we went down the block to wait for the girls to get off of the school bus. Oh, and speaking of which, the bus driver recognizes us already! When the girls saw us yesterday they let out a yippee, there is Nanny and Grandpa. The bus driver did make eye contact with me, and today when the girls said our names, a little louder today, the bus driver looked at me and said hello, I will know your face now. Even though the girls are excited to see us, they have to be cautioned to hold on to the handrail and take those tall steps one at a time and slowly. They had their pretty pink rainboots on today, and they can be slippery. The air is cool since the rain came in. I am waiting for the local evening news to start so that I can see our forecast, but we are due for a drop in the temperatures. The cooler nights will bring on the colour that we love to see in the leaves on the trees, although that doesn't typically peak until late September until mid October.
