Stranger assists a boater to safety when his boat exploded in a canal

A stranger who was in the Calcasieu Ship Canal in Lake Charles did his duty to rescue a boater who needed help when his personal watercraft exploded on Sunday.
The accident happened when the boat exploded when the boater tried to start his boat near Lake Charles Louisiana.
A nearby boater who was wearing a personal flotation device jumped into the body of water and rescued the boater who was aboard the boat that exploded and took him to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Marine Division. (CPSO)
CPSO spokesman Adam Einck mentioned that the injured boater was taken by an ambulance to CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick's Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Local law enforcement officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
