So many little annoyances!!

This week I’m just having so many annoying things happen. Not big things – obviously in the great scheme of things they are not worth mentioning – but just irritating.
First, a couple of lights in the house stopped working. One was above the desk Big One uses for her artwork and the other was one of several in the kitchen. Since I have been working in town anyway this week I took the non-working light bulbs with me so I could pop into a hardware shop and be sure to buy the same fitting.
I bought LED spotlight bulbs, one equivalent to a 100 W conventional bulb so it would be nice and bright for art, and two 60 W equivalent bulbs for the kitchen because there was a deal on buying two and I’m sure we’ll need another in due course. The assistant asked if I would like to dispose of the used bulbs and since I have to find a special place to get rid of them otherwise I said yes please.
When I got home I replaced both the bulbs but found that the one in the kitchen still didn’t work. I thought I must have bought a duff one so I swapped it for the other new one the same – still nothing. Then I swapped other bulbs around in the kitchen and found that there’s nothing wrong with the bulbs, it’s the actual fitting that has suddenly stopped working. No idea how or why that could happen. And of course I have thrown away the old bulb which may well have been perfectly functional.
Next, I needed a new set of keys for the house. Our lodgers only have one set of keys between them so they would like another, and Little One needs a key for the garage because she has started cycling to school and needs to be able to get her bike in and out. So I popped in to the key cutting place on my way to work yesterday.
I was in a bit of a rush as it was 12:50 and I needed to start work at 1pm five minutes away. The man cut three keys for me and I paid and rushed out without checking.
When I got home and went to test them to be sure they all worked properly, I found he had given me a garage key and two keys for the front door, instead of three different keys. So now I have to go back and ask him to do the other one – which means a 7 mile special round trip on my bike when I was rather looking forward to not having to go out today!
Finally, Little One said she would like a watch. She previously had one I bought some years ago from Argos which came with a pretty blue strap with flowers on it which she loved. When the strap wore out I couldn’t find anything similar anywhere and she refused a plain strap. I did suggest just buying another watch the same because the price was only a couple of pounds more than a new strap anyway, but she said no to that as well, so she has had to do without for a couple of years. Now though she says she has changed her mind. I guess she needs one because the school is being strict about phones so she can’t just get her phone out to look at the time.
Anyway since I have to go into town in any case to sort out the key issue, I thought I could pick up a new watch at the same time if it was available. So I looked on the Argos website and sure enough the same watch is still there and on special offer at only £11. I clicked 'add to trolley' and that didn’t flag anything. So I thought I would use some of my Microsoft Bing points. I went to my account and converted 17,355 points into a £10 Argos voucher then went back to the Argos site and clicked on the ‘pay now’ button – and it said the watch is out of stock!
So we are back to square one with the watch situation and in addition I have now spent my points on a £10 Argos voucher I don’t want as I can’t think of anything else I need from there!
Whatever next I wonder?

That certainly does sound like too many annoyances for you to deal with. Hope you can get the whole key thing settled and hopefully the kitchen fixture for the bulb isn't a big fix. Also hope you can find the watch for your Little One. That's really frustrating that after all the it was out of stock.

oh my god the key guy giving you two front door keys instead of three different ones, that is exactly the kind of thing that happens when your already rushing. and loosing the argos watch to out of stock right after converting your points is just rubbing salt in it honestly

That sounds suspiciously like three things to me so you should be set now to go forward with no more problems. lol
