Welcome to my prep room

The room that I am in now is a dedicated science room. It was completely gutted and renovated 5 or 6 years ago. The room next to me is also a science room. In between the 2 rooms we have a prep room. It is used to store supplies, house chemicals, and in theory prepare things for labs.
There is like no sign of the A&P teacher back there. No supplies, no personal items, nothing. The only thing that is "his" is a refrigerator which he uses to store specimens when they are doing dissections. (needless to say I won't be keeping my lunch in there)
What is very cool is that there is a couch in there! And it is a comfy couch! The teacher who had the room retired and apparently didn't want to take it with him. Today I brought in a decorative pillow and a fleece blanket. I don't think I'll be napping back there anytime soon but if I had 2 periods off back to back. . . well that would be a different story.
What you can't see in this picture is the counter behind me. That's where I have my stash of snacks. I left everything just out on the counter as an experiment to see if I had to worry about mice. So far nothing has been nibbled on. If I do see that then I will just bring in a Rubbermaid tub to hold everything.
So this is my little hidey hole. This marking period I have Drivers Ed classes in my room during my 2 off periods. I usually wander the building for the 1st one but when I run out of things to do I just go back to the prep room and hang there.
I'm going to bring my Keurig in next week. I already have a hot water kettle there for tea. The only other thing I'd like to have in there is a mini-fridge. We aren't supposed to have them but in the science department we can get away with it because hey maybe I'm chilling isopropyl alcohol for a DNA extraction lab.

***ugh*** looks like pictures aren't working. I'll add it as soon as they work again.

That couch find is such a win, free furniture from a retiring teacher is the best kind. No way I'd trust that fridge either
lol, dissection specimens and lunch do not mix. Sounds like you're building a real nice little hideout back there, mini fridge excuse and all.

And I wouldn’t feel great about using the specimen fridge either!
