The Seasons Sure Have Changed ~ A Rant

No, not the seasons of the year but the seasons of TV series. I watch a lot of TV. A lot of true crime and vintage movies. But I do watch several series too. I have found that down through the years the number of episodes in a season have dropped considerably. Back in the late 90s you would see about 22-26 episodes per season. Now we might get 6 per season. Sure, the writing is better and production prices have gone up but when it takes sometimes 12 to 18 months for a new season to drop it's just ridiculous. It really gets old because I have gone on to other stories and have to watch the previous episodes to update myself on many of them. Where did they leave off? What's the story? In case you are interested in the series I'm watching here's a few: Dexter, Matlock, Elsbeth, (Paramount Plus), Testament (Hulu), The Night Agent, Ginny and Georgia, The Hunting Wives (Netflix) It's frustrating. Getting worse and not better. Your thoughts? Do you watch any interesting series?
