Today was our rescheduled auction pick up day. We picked up at our regular weekly auction and another one that we just every now and then. They had an auction with lots of Fenton pieces and other old glassware, carnival glass, old pressed glass, etc. So I took my chances and bid on about a dozen things. I got most of the stuff I bid on, so was happy with that outcome.
At our weekly auction, I probably bid on more than I should have (and won more) than I needed. Oh well, that is how it goes sometimes.
In the weekly auction I got a set of holiday dishes, complete with a large tea pot or hot chocolate pot, cd lot, some nice glassware, some vintage jewelry, a couple of heaters, a fan and some tools. We got everything loaded before the sky opened up dumping rain on the area. Yay!
My husband was hungry on the way home so we checked out a few places on my phone and decided on a seafood place called Family Fish House. He ordered a seafood platter and I ordered a dozen fried oysters. We had french fries, hush puppies, cole slaw and turnip greens as sides. I had about 18 oysters on my plate, so we have lunch for Saturday. It was all good, but my favorite was the turnip greens. I have heard of them being cooked with sugar, but had never tasted them before. They were delicious. I think they had a hint of butter in there too. Have you ever eaten them this way??
What did you have for dinner on Friday night?

@kareng Enoki is mushroom that imported from China as the main global producea. But korean and Japanese food also use Enoki. I thought it originated from Japan. The mushroom is small and when it is soaked in hot water it gets witheref soon.

I think I've only ever had turnip in soup. Oysters are expensive here but I love them.
