Firefighters rescue a man and his dog who were aboard a sinking boat

The Stamford Fire Department Marine Division and firefighters answered an emergency call on Wednesday when a 24 foot vessel take was taking on water off Westcott Cove in Connecticut. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Sector Long Island Sound sent a message to the firefighters, a drone with infrared capabilities to go the scene of the accident to rescue a man and his dog that were inside the boat that was taken on water. A drone was able to locate the vessel from the air when the crew saw an engine compartment was underwater which caused the vessel to lose power. The firefighters began dewatering to prevent the vessel from sinking. The boat was then towed to shore when the owner recovered the vessel.
