This school year is already very different

I was moved to a different classroom this year. It is across the building from where I've been for 20+ years. Everyone always says that upper C-wing is "the cool kids". Ya know what? They are right! I'm across the hall from 2 friends. . . and one of them is a very good friend. We went through our divorces together and while they were very different experiences divorce still sucks so we bonded through that. The past 2 weeks have been such a change. There is no toxic environment whether I had my own room or had to float between other ones. Everyone gets along and helps each other out. When I get in (which is always on time) a coworker has already unlocked and opened my door. The whole vibe there is just so chill which is my style. I don't need any more stress in my life. This new placement is perfect for that. I saw the principal on Friday and thanked him for making the move for me. I didn't ask for it. I told him that I don't cry on my way to work any longer. He looked surprised at that comment but it is true. It has only been 2 weeks but I am hopeful for a good year. I need one.
