Perpendicular.

I do love the word perpendicular - don’t you?. It greatly occupied my mind around the time that I first learned it, and once I thought I had mastered its pronunciation and meaning I felt that I had come of age. I was eight years old. I took oodles of delight when I found occasions when I could use the word and can remember writing in a story that trees grow perpendicularly to the surface of the earth. I furrowed my brow when discussing perpendicularity. Do any words stand out as significant for you?

Not really but I was proud of myself for sounding out Solyptol and coming up with 'solly-p-tol' and was very hurt when my mother and sister laughed.

I have lots of “favourite” words. One that comes to mind is “abstemious”, It describes me perfectly and also contains all the vowels in alphabetical order. I have also been described as “facetious”.

Ha, perpendicular really is a fun one to say. For me it was probably "onomatopoeia," felt so proud when I finally spelled it right. Words like that just stick with you I guess.
