I Got Scammed !!!

What the heck was wrong with me yesterday?!!! Someone pretending from my bank called me and asked some verifications. But since the day was chaotic both at work and at home, I lacked focus or better said I lacked common sense. I was so trusting because they knew my mailing address, email, birthday and even my full name and my mother's maiden name which I used to apply for my credit card. So, I just followed whatever popped up in the screen and relayed it to the caller. Later on, I realized I was being scammed but unfortunately , it was too late to stop the last process so the transaction can be completed , I HIT THE "CONFIRM" BUTTON BEFORE I COULD STOP MYSELF!!! 
Now, I am angry both to the scammer but more to myself. :-( That was phising , I guess.

Gullible is the right word, Raksi. :-( They knew so much about me. Almost all of my private details , they were able to state. Plus, there was also a "prompt from the system" instructing you what to do . Even the so called agents who called sounded like they were really legit representatives from the bank. Sigh... I learned my lesson the hard way.

sorry this happened to you. I only deal with the bank in person or through my app. too many scams out there. be careful but I'm glad you caught it

I have been dealing with the bank's personnel for ages, and I was never scammed. This is the first time. Well, I guess there is always a first time for everything, even getting scammed. Though I feel so stupid :-)
Unfortunately, I did not catch who they are. I wish I did. They use prepaid mobile numbers. And cases like this in my country aren't something that is easily resolved. :-(

Yes, Toni. Sometimes, we are so unmindful of our actions until we realize we screwed up. :-) Fortunately, I did not deposit to my account while the scammer still had access to it.
I changed the password already and called the bank to blocked my credit card and replace it with a new one.

They sounded so legit and convincing. No, I don't think I'll be charged for that. It was my money that had been stolen and the transaction from my bank statement looked legit. . :-(

I was depressed yesterday. I couldn't believe how gullible I was. Hardly slept last night. But after praying and convincing myself that at least they were not able to steal a hefty amount, I moved on from that now. I have learned my lessons. :-)

I already made the necessary changes and also contacted the bank to block my card, which they did today.
Scary and traumatic. What if I had deposited a bigger amount, or someone else did? Can you imagine the mental stress that might have caused me? So next time, I'll be very wary about trusting these so-called bank representatives. :-)

That's frightening, especially because they already knew so many of your personal details. I can understand why that made the call seem genuine, particularly when you were already distracted by a hectic day. These scams have become very convincing, so please don't keep blaming yourself. I hope you contacted your bank immediately, explained exactly what happened and secured your account and card. I have become very cautious about calls claiming to be from banks. Even if they know my details, I'd rather end the call and contact the bank myself through its official number. I really hope the bank can help you recover the money.
